The Tnufa Complex
The Talpiot Quarter, better known as Talpiot Industrial Zone, has changed its character in recent years as traditional industrial uses have relocated to industrial zones outside the city. The new master plan creates a planning foundation for the development of a new principal urban center for Jerusalem, in area that will be crossed by three new light rail lines in the future. The vision for renewal in the Talpiot Quarter envisages a multipurpose and diverse center featuring high-quality public space, encouraging walking and providing access to light rail and pedestrian routes. The compound is intended to serve as a mixed-use area, including residential construction, commerce, employment, education, culture, entertainments, crafts, and services.
The Tnufa complex by the Sufrin Group is a project that combines an open mall and offices in the renewed business area of Talpiot, Jerusalem. In the first phase of the project, two retail floors (10,000 sqm) and 3 office floors (14,000 sqm) will be built. In the second phase, a 13-story office tower (25,000 sqm in total) will be built. The architects (BLK) inspiration for the shape and layout of the building was taken from the letter 'chet' in Hebrew (ח)
We were tasked to design the interior main lobbies, elevator lobbies as well as hallways in between these spaces throughout the entire building. After working on a few different design options, this was the final chosen design. Currently we are in the processes of drawing up plans and consulting with suppliers and the contractor.
